Who I am
I have been an actor, studying Shakespeare and the classics at Oxford, and wrote and produced a limited TV series, “ProvinceLands,” where pagan symbolism is integral to the plot line.
I have been working on a series of Children’s illustrated books, “A Walk in My Garden,” for preschool-age children, intentionally keeping the artwork childlike, created using only my finger on my iPhone. My hope with this little book is to inspire children at an impressionable age to be enthusiastic about Nature around them, and hopefully develop a desire to preserve and protect it.
I am also composing a book of original photos, artwork, and poetry on the subject of sexual identity.
A small selection of photographs is presented in this gallery. In addition, you may find additional works at the following links:
"Lake Hollywood (Sermon for the Weary)" (example of ekphrasis)
I am currently experimenting with merging my photography and poetry, exploring ekphrasis – words inspired by imagery, mostly derived from the natural world. An example of this can be seen in my most recent ekphrastic poem, “Lake Hollywood – (Sermon for the Weary)” in Reforestation Magazine. Along with my partner, Rob Wilson, I created an exhibition of hybrid artworks we call "photo paintings" in celebration of the City of West Hollywood’s anniversary, for which we were given a Commendation from the City.
I am a photographer, published poet, writer, video producer, voice artist, and actor.
I have ventured into uncharted territory with my company LUX Art & Design, co-creating a new art form dubbed by one prestigious client as "the merger of art and design." We call it "LUX-HDA," designed to blend seamlessly into the decor of venues of healing, hospitality, and those places people go to calm themselves, recover from trauma, rest, relax.LUX-HDA is a collaboration between fine artists and a team of electronic experts, who develop multiple iterations of artwork, colors shapes, textures, to evolve "on the edge of perception." The installations -- which can be projected on almost any surface at any size, or through video, distributed around the globe. Unfortunately, LUX as well as many of our corporate sponsors were shut down in the Crash of 2008.
My creative interests began in childhood with a precocious interest in art, and branched into a number of modes of expression over the years.
