The demure, subservient wife of the U.S. Consul General in Istanbul, Jennifer Clark’s life is thrown into turmoil when she is kidnapped by what first appear to be ISIS. Tortured by steroid-fueled sadists, she bonds with an abused Muslim cleaning woman. Hidden in a burka, she escapes, secreted among the women. With them, she discovers her inner warrior, and joins in an uprising. With a female Peshmerga leader, she reaches the border with the orphaned son of her savior. She emerges profoundly changed: demure, subservient no more.
